The Pro-Graduate Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management has been designed to provide a qualification in international hospitality and tourism management, covering all the key management skills required for a management career in the sector.

Admission Requirements

  • Students must be at least 19 years of age at enrolment.
  • All students must be able to speak, read and write English.  The course is taught in English and requires students to study independently outside taught sessions and read around the subject from books and other academic sources.
  • This programme is assessed only in English by assignments and examinations; high level language and academic study skills including academic referencing (Harvard style) and criticality are essential, or must be gained via support from centres.
  • Students should have completed the Advanced Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management or equivalent
  • Students with work experience must provide evidence, including detailed CV and employer reference/s confirming roles and responsibilities, of at least four years’ work experience in the hospitality and/or tourism industry which must include two years at a recognised management level. Education as for Level 5 is preferred.

Business analysis, planning models, growth strategies, vision, mission, culture and strategy implementation.

Managing Events for Hospitality & Tourism
Types of event, issues, pre/real-time/post event management.

Quality Management for Hospitality & Tourism
Importance, quality improvement measures, customer research & feedback.

Marketing Strategies for Hospitality & Tourism
Relationship vs transactional marketing, loyalty, third-party, social and e-marketing, and public relations. Assessment: Examination.
